Well, in my (NON)humble opinion, HTF characters as such are only foundation for deeper personalities, only concepts, some of which are non-trivial. Mechanics of HTF as show disallow them to get full development, but in fan works, on top of base traits really well-written characters may arise. Too bad that majority of fans only use stereotypes, that irks me out.
How about you, Warren? What do you think of fan works?
